NEW DESIGNER, NEW OBSESSION

Prabal Gurung is my new love! His clothes are beautiful, elegant, and perfect for a lady, including First Lady, Michelle Obama, who wore his designs! His collections are works of art, and move beautifully when worn! A Parsons grad, Prabal worked under various design houses such as Donna Karan, Manoush Arora, Cynthia Rowley, and Bill Blass! He debuted his first collection in February 2009 during New York Fashion Week, and this past February, he took his talents to the tents at Bryant Park! This year at NYFW at Lincoln Park, he will be showing on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 1:00, and this will be his second time showing at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! Best of luck to Prabal, and can't wait to see the S/S 2011 collection!

It's HERE!

Finally, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week released the schedule of the legendary New York Fashion Week Fall Shows! Can't wait to seethe 2011 Spring/Summer Collections, and at a new location: Lincoln Park!

Can't wait for the shows, especially looking forward to the Milly, Tory Burch, and Tibi show because they are always major!

Eloise Please!

As a young girl, I was a fervent reader of the Eloise books! I loved the fantasy life that Eloise lived, and even wished I was her at times! I mean what girl wouldn't want to live like a Princess in the Penthouse of the Plaza? Well, now those fantasies of wanting to live like Eloise can come true because the Plaza is opening the "Eloise Suite" on the 18th floor on Aug, 16th! But, of course, luxury always comes with a price. One night in this Princess suite costs $995, but with this special night of sleeping in Eloise's room, you will receive a $100 gift card to the fabulous Eloise shop, a framed photo of you in the Eloise suite, and an Eloise camera to snap pictures of your stay in the girly suite! Oh, and the designer of the suite is the one and only, Betsey Johnson, who is known for her shockwave collections full of pink and funky prints! Here are some shots of the suite:

T H E NEW MCM!

Move over MCM handbags, there's a new MCM in town!

Fashion Designer and recent University of Alabama apparel/textile design grad, Mary Catherine Moody, is a designer to watch! Mary Catherine's design technique consists of creating classic silhouettes with stunning embellished fabrics and applique! Her first collection, La Femme, consisted of 30 hand-sewn gorgeous dresses that any fashionista would love! Her attention to detail is what makes the dress so special because she has a strong eye for beauty and embellishment! The designer is currently in Atlanta working on her debut of her Fall 2011 collection!

LIVE LOVE LEONA

Leona is a contemporary luxury brand that makes a girl feel beautiful, sexy, and charming all at the same time! The designer, Lauren Leonard, an apparel textile design major from the University of Alabama, debuted the line in Spring 2008, and since then has gained a following, a chic following that is, of girls that want to wear her stylish designs! Below are some of my favorite Fall/Holiday Collection looks that I am going to definitely wear to SMU football games, parties, style events, or even dress down to class! Burbeauty!

Just this month, Burberry just launched a collection of cosmetics that is sold exclusively at Harrods in the U.K. and select Nordstroms in the U.S.! The collection includes lip liner, lipstick, foundation, make-up brushes, and eyeshadow, and the best part is that you can get the signature plaid print for a price-point from $24 to $60! Christopher Bailey, Burberry's CEO, describes the line to WWD as "effortless elegance"! So, hurry up and get the chic make-up collection before its sold-out!

Milly-ionaire!

Milly NY Clothing is one of my favorite contemporary ready-to-wear brands! I love the girly-chicness that the clothing conveys! Also, Michelle Smith (designer of Milly) seems like a sweet, down-to-earth person, and I respect her for going after what she wanted! In her bio., she had gotten a coveted internship at Hermes in Paris, by personally writing the President of Hermes a letter that she wanted to work for his empire! This ambition led her to gain the experience to become a brand herself and give others the confidence to go forward and achieve what they wanted! As for her current Fall collection, which I would call Gossip-girl chic, or forget the chic, Gossip Girl is ALWAYS chic! This collection was infused with school-girl looks that include both uniform staples, and a few wild cards (neon silk bow-top)! I am starting college next year in chic Dallas, Texas at Southern Methodist University, and I will definitely be donning these looks, so I can be collegiate chic! Here are my favorite looks and with these fabulous ensembles, you will be sure to look like a Milly-ionaire!

Carolina Herrera Resort 2011!

The Carolina Herrera Resort 2011 collection gave off a romantic, airy feeling, as well as an effortless chic aspect! I love everything about this collection, which I get to see more of the looks than STYLE.com posted because I intern at Carolina Herrera! I analyzed every Resort 2011 look including every pant, skirt, shirt, sweater, suit, and my favorite, the gowns with my coworkers and my boss, who went to the Resort 2011 collection unveiling! Here are my favorite looks, but it was hard even narrowing them down to a few because there were SO many looks I truly adored!

Internation!

Interning is a great experience for anyone who wants to move up in whatever industry they want to work in! For me, I want to work in the fashion industry, so interning for Carolina Herrera is a great way for me to get familiar with the industry in general, marketing, buying, store-management, consumer relations, and the fashion business in general! Its interesting, in fashion, the consumers only see the finished, beautiful product, but A LOT of work goes into perfecting, editing, and finalizing whatever that product may be! I deeply respect those people that work in this industry because on the outside it may seem glamorous, but it takes a lot of hard work to make it in this industry, which I am determined to do! This coming week is an exciting week! Not only, are the CFDA awards tomorrow night, but my boss is going to market for Carolina Herrera Resort 2011, which is SOOO exciting because the looks have not been put up on Style.com or WWD, so I cannot wait to see her photos of the looks on Wednesday! When the looks are up I will definitely post them on my blog because they are for sure going to be HAUTE!
