Quilted Perfection

My must-have for the season is leather, leather, leather! I am in love with the rocker-chic look of leather, and also consider leather shorts, skirts, pants, and jackets to be more of a basic for fall than a trend! Leather is so classic and can give off an effortless chic look with a rocker edge! My favorite leather item this fall has to be the stunning black quilted leather mini shorts by Phillip Lim! The price-point is $575, but these shorts are so fabulous that they're worth EVERY penny!

Far From a Plain Jane

Meet Jane Aldridge: She started her fashion blog, SeaofShoes.com in April 2007, when she was just 15 years old! The blog began as a hobby and turned into an international destination for all fashion lovers, including me!  Jane also has celebrity fans that read her blog including Tory Burch, Kanye West, and Rachel Zoe- to name a few! The blog is centered around Jane's admiration and passion for shoes, as well as chic vintage treasures and inspiring finds. Jane lists Marni and Prada among her favorite shoe designers, and I had the pleasure of running into Jane at the fabulous Neiman Marcus here in Dallas, and found her to be so sweet and a pleasure to talk too! Jewelry is a very important component to a wardrobe because it can dress-up or dress-down an outfit, and is also an expression of one's personality! The September Issue

They're almost here! The September issues of magazines that are most coveted by fashionistas world-wide! These issues are more snapped up then other month issues because September means the start of a new year for students, or the start of a new season for people with careers, where white linen and comfortable t-shirts are put away, and Fall's biggest trends are put to the test! NEW DESIGNER, NEW OBSESSION

Prabal Gurung is my new love! His clothes are beautiful, elegant, and perfect for a lady, including  First Lady, Michelle Obama, who wore his designs! His collections are works of art, and move beautifully when worn! A Parsons grad, Prabal worked under various design houses such as Donna Karan, Manoush Arora, Cynthia Rowley, and Bill Blass! He debuted his first collection in February 2009 during New York Fashion Week, and this past February, he took his talents to the tents at Bryant Park! This year at NYFW at Lincoln Park, he will be showing on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 1:00, and this will be his second time showing at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! Best of luck to Prabal, and can't wait to see the S/S 2011 collection!

Eloise Please!

As a young girl, I was a fervent reader of the Eloise books! I loved the fantasy life that Eloise lived, and even wished I was her at times! I mean what girl wouldn't want to live like a Princess in the Penthouse of the Plaza? Well, now those fantasies of wanting to live like Eloise can come true because the Plaza is opening the "Eloise Suite" on the 18th floor on Aug, 16th! But, of course, luxury always comes with a price. Move over MCM handbags, there's a new MCM in town! 

Fashion Designer and recent University of Alabama apparel/textile design grad, Mary Catherine Moody, is a designer to watch! Mary Catherine's design technique consists of creating classic silhouettes with stunning embellished fabrics and applique! Her first collection, La Femme, consisted of 30 hand-sewn gorgeous dresses that any fashionista would love! Her attention to detail is what makes the dress so special because she has a strong eye for beauty and embellishment! The designer is currently in Atlanta working on her debut of her Fall 2011 collection!
